Mark Beccue is a Senior contributor to Compass Intelligence research. He is a veteran market research analyst with more than 20 years of experience in market and business strategy. He provides market insights, research reports, and contributes to consulting projects where needed.
Formerly Mark served as a senior analyst with ABI Research, providing market research to global clients. Mark developed thought leadership research in the areas of mobile payments and mobile consumer services, including pioneering research in mobile banking mobile payments, HTML5, augmented reality, mobile and tablet apps, and cloud services. Mark has been cited hundreds of times by international media outlets, including CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek/Bloomberg, Internet Retailer, CNET, ReadWriteWeb.
For 10 years prior, Mark worked for Syniverse. From 2000 until June 2006, Mark was responsible for strategic planning, analysis of new opportunities and conception of new products for Syniverse. During that time he oversaw end to end business case development including financial analysis for more than a dozen opportunities. Mark conceptualized, developed and launched two text messaging related products that generate multi-million dollar revenue streams. He also developed the launch plan for Syniverse’s European operations, managed marketing for Syniverse’s European offerings and oversaw the market strategy for Asia Pacific region. A prolific relationship builder, Mark developed and managed partnerships with 10 content/text messaging companies and assisted in assessing merger & acquisition target companies.
Prior to joining Syniverse, Mark served as Vice President at Tucker/Hall, a public relations and marketing consulting firm based in Tampa with multi-million dollar billings. As one of the original employees, Mark was a key figure in helping grow the firm from nothing to $1 million in billings. Responsible for strategic planning and execution of marketing, promotions, employee relations and media relations programs, Mark’s primary clients included Tropicana, Coopers & Lybrand and Stetson College of Law. For Tropicana, Mark was responsible for the strategic planning for brand entry into Argentina, Tropicana’s first South American footprint.
Mark has been recognized with several awards for marketing excellence from the wireless industry (Cellular Telephone and Internet Association, Personal Communications Industry Association) the marketing communications community (Tampa Bay Advertising Federation, Public Relations Society of America) and by his former company (Syniverse 2000 Marketing Excellence Award).
