| SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, July 12, 2011: Compass Intelligence has released full results from a recent survey regarding how the tablet PC is impacting the business and consumer marketplace. Of 1,103 respondents surveyed in the 2nd quarter of 2011, 23% plan to buy one or more tablets, while 35% are interested in purchasing a tablet PC but are not sure when they plan to do so. The tablet market is poised for strong growth, especially as the holiday season approaches in the 4th quarter and prices continue to decline as new tablets enter into the market this year. The majority of those that plan to buy a tablet plan to do so within the next 2 to 9 months, according to survey results.
To be expected, Apple (1st and 2nd generation) was the top tablet currently owned and was also the top brand selected for those that plan to purchase one or more tablets.
