US Enterprise Business Wireline Voice Expenditures by Size of Business, 2010-2015
Enterprise Business /
Wireline Voice
This Excel-based Data-rich Deliverable (DRD) that is part of the Enterprise Business subscription includes market intelligence on Wireless Voice Expenditures for enterprise business by vertical. Wireless Voice Services (WLV) include expenditures on dial tone related services, where voice calls are delivered over a wireless network. This category includes per-minute charges, base charges in flat-rate plans and for-fee, value-added services related to wireless voice transport, i.e., voice-activated dialing, voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting, and caller ID. Verticals include: Mining, Construction, TCU, Government, Retail, Services, FIRE, Manufacturing, Wholesale Trade and Retail. Size of business includes SOHO (1-4 employees), Small Business (5-99 employees), Mid-Sized Business (100-999 employees), and Enterprise Business (Over 1000 employees). The Expert Guide for this deliverable is Stephanie Atkinson. Forecasts are from 2010 through 2015 and include annual growth rate, as well as percentage of total market.
Advancements in technology and greater availability of bandwidth has facilitated the enterprise market's movement away from Wireline services. Wireless services offer greater mobility, flexibility and security, which is an important asset in current enterprise business architecture. As a result, Wireline voice spending is on the decline, expected to explosively decrease from $8.0 billion in 2011 to $4.3 billion in 2015; an approximate 50% decrease in spending. The migration away from wireline voice services is expected to accelerate in the latter years of the forecast. The rapid decline in wireline voice usage and spending will eventually seep down to the smaller and mid-sized businesses, as enterprise businesses tend to lead the trend in technology adoption.

US Mid-Sized Business Wireline Voice Expenditures by Size of Business, 2010-2015
Mid-Sized Business /
Wireline Voice
Unlike wireless voice services, spending on wireline voice by mid-sized businesses is on the decline. The spending is expected to fall from $3.1 billion in 2010 to $1.9 billion in 2015, a decrease of over $1.2 billion over the forecast period. This increase can in part be attributed to cheaper costs of communications and advanced technology, but this decline has particularly been driven by increased usage of wireless voice (and other) services. Mid-sized businesses however will increase their share of proportional spending (when compared to other SU businesses) over the next 5 years, increasing from 8.6% in 2010 to 9.4% in 2011.
This Excel-based Data-rich Deliverable (DRD) that is part of the Mid-Sized Business subscription includes market intelligence on Wireline Voice expenditures for a Medium business by size of business. Wireline voice services include expenditures on dial tone related services, where voice calls are delivered over the public switched telephone network. This category includes local and long distance access charges, as well as “enhanced” services related to voice, such as voicemail, call forwarding, call waiting, caller ID, and Centrex. Size of business includes SOHO (1-4 employees), Small Business (5-99 employees), Mid-Sized Business (100-999 employees), and Enterprise Business (Over 1000 employees). The Expert Guide for this deliverable is Kneko Burney. Forecasts are from 2010 through 2015 and include annual growth rate, as well as percentage of total market.

US Small Business Wireline Voice Expenditures By Size of Business, 2010-2015
Small Business /
Wireline Voice
Wireline spending within US small businesses is on a dramatic decline, fuelled primarily due to increased usage of wireless communication. Other factor contributing towards decrease in investment is cheaper costs of components and general infrastructures. US small business wireline voice spending currently costs $16.1 billion, but is expected to reduce to $9.7 billion in 2015. However, its proportional share in overall US business wireline spending is expected to stay at around 48% over the next 5 years. Smaller businesses with less than 10 employees will increase their proportional spending on wireline voice services, increasing from 29.3% in 2011 to 31.1% in 2015. However, this will not compensate for general reducing in spending within this sector.
This Excel-based Data-rich Deliverable (DRD) that is part of the Small Business subscription includes market intelligence on Wireline Voice expenditures for small business by size of business.
